The feeding of some VERY large birds

** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** **Jim and I went to Solvang this past weekend after we had a late lunch in Lompoc with my great-aunt (who was very impressed by Jim.) On the way to Solvang we passed an ostrich farm where you could feed them. Let me tell you, it was quite the experience! We all know they are huge birds but I quess I didn't realize how big until I stood near one and wondered if it was going to eat the food I held out for it or bite me. I mean look at the sign under Jim's hand! And they way those birds seemed to attack the food pan! They banged their beaks into it and sorta bounced the food into their mouths. We walked up the short path a little way to where these two ostriches where by themselves and they were so dainty about eating that we figured that was why they were in a less secure looking pen. It was a great day when all was said and done. :D
